Focus: River Ecology & Water Quality
The Changing Waterfront class field trip is offered separately or in combination with the Water Quality and Plankton class field trip.
The Changing Waterfront trips focus on qualitative observations. Classes take a long walk (of over a mile) from one of three locations. In Greenwich Village, classes explore the waterfront using an interpretive class exercise that highlights waterfront change. The tour includes 13 stops that focus on both history and ecology. In Chelsea, the field trip begins at Pier 66A and visits 10 stops. At Clinton Cove, the tour has 13 stops.
