Field Trips

A field trip to Hudson River Park can enhance your classroom lessons through place-based, hands-on activities. The Hudson River Park Trust’s Education staff will work with you to plan and execute a successful trip.

The park's Education staff offers programs that touch on several of New York State’s Learning Standards. There is no charge for educator lead programs, but reservations are required.  Availability is limited; please book your program at least one month in advance.

Guided Field Trips

Programs range from 45 to 90 minutes in length depending on topic and grade level. Park staff will customize programs to fit the needs of your class.

At the Park:

go Changing Waterfront

go Fishing & Biology

go Water Quality & Plankton

go Garden Trees, Insects & Birds

At your school:

Park educators can visit schools to conduct pre- and post-field trip activities. Educators can also assist teachers with planning and implementing ongoing studies in Hudson River Park. The availability of in-school programs is limited; preference is given to schools that are also conducting field trips to Hudson River Park.
