The Hudson River Park Trust is recruiting volunteer gardeners now! Volunteer gardening efforts will be concentrated in two areas of the Park during the season, the South Promenade and Pier 66. Two professional volunteer recruitment organizations, NYCares and Street Project will be enlisting volunteers for the following projects:
The Pier 66 Natural Habitat volunteer opportunity requires a commitment twice a month program on Saturdays from 8:30am till 12 noon, during the season. Only 15 people can participate per session. Pier 66 will have you actively weeding, pruning, transplanting, and thinning in this sanctuary garden not open to the public. Healthy, strong and hard working individuals required, some gardening experience preferred.
Sign Up through NYCares.
The South Promenade volunteer effort is an on-going, open enrollment, no commitment, every other Sunday event for 15 people. Come once or come every time. In the South Promenade perennial beds you will hands-on learn horticulture skills, such as weeding, thinning and pruning. NYCares and Street Projects each take one Sunday a month, during the season.
