Teacher Training

The Environment and Education department of Hudson River Park Trust, in partnership with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, is offering teacher trainings on April 25 and April 26. All sessions will take place at Hudson River Park’s Pier 84 Classroom at West 44th Street. Teachers will participate in hands-on activities that are correlated to state and national learning standards.  Programs are free, advance registration is required. Project Learning Tree Early Childhood is a new curriculum guide and music CD that engages children ages 3 to 6 in outdoor exploration and play. Eleven field-tested, hands on activities showcase over 130 "early childhood experiences" which integrate investigations of nature with art, literature, math, music and movement. Hudson River Park Trust Education staff members host workshops throughout the year on a variety of subjects.
 

If you would like to take advantage of the educational opportunities in Hudson River Park for your school, a teacher training workshop is a great way to start. Through hands-on instruction, our staff will guide you through water quality monitoring, river ecology, arts activities and historical highlights of the west side waterfront.
