
Hudson River Park Trust offers class field trips and tours during
the school year and for summer camps emphasizing ecology, history,
and horticulture. Read more details about each program by clicking

The Trust currently offers ecology based hands-on field trips
covering: water quality, plankton and fishing. History field trips
are primarily centered in the Chelsea and Greenwich Village areas
where resources include waterfront history, historic vessels,
and historic railroads. Horticulture is emphasized at the new
gardens in Greenwich Village and Chelsea. These trips are led
by a Park Educator.

application.

Educational program consulting is available to help customize
a curriculum that utilizes the Park’s resources based on
class need and demand. Lectures are free but the Trust does ask
for donations when possible.

In Chelsea, Pier
66a is an historic railroad barge and railroad car with open
house on the historic Lightship Frying Pan. The fireboat John
J Harvey, is also docked at Pier 66a. Chelsea
Piers emphasizes sports and physical education.
In West Midtown,
at Pier 86,
the Intrepid
Sea-Air-Space Museum has educational tours for classes and
independent explorations. NY Sun Works’ Science
Barge, a sustainable urban farm, offers educational tours
and programs at Pier 84.
