Overwhelming Response Underscores Community Commitment To Saving Hudson River Park

June 1

On May 31st, a standing room only crowd of committed Westsiders and New Yorkers from all parts of the City joined the Hudson River Park Trust, its Advisory Council, and the Park's Task Force for a public meeting about the current state of Hudson River Park and to discuss ideas for fulfilling the vision of the Park. A host of elected officials, community leaders and neighbors voiced their feelings and concerns, and while specific approaches were varied, everyone was in full agreement about the need to act collectively to secure the Park's future.

Led by Madelyn Wils, the Trust's President & CEO, and Arthur Schwartz, Chair of the Park's Advisory Council and Chair of Community Board 2's Waterfront Committee, the meeting opened with a presentation (see below). Numerous other members of the Trust's Board and Advisory Council were also present.

We encourage your feedback and invite our neighbors and fellow community members to email us your ideas for how to meet the Park's financial challenges.
