Countless children have learned to play team sports on Hudson River Park’s artificial turf fields, and dozens of youth and adult sports leagues rely on the Park’s public fields for their recreational, camp and instruction programs each season.

Our athletic fields, open daily from early morning until late at night, are home to some of the most coveted and heavily used recreational fields in Manhattan, and proudly host a variety of sports, including soccer, baseball, football, rugby and lacrosse.

The newly renovated Pier 40 Courtyard Fields are an iconic Park feature, but the Chelsea Waterside, Pier 40 Rooftop and Pier 40 Indoor fields are equally valued by the more than two hundred thousand children and adults who make use of them all year long. The Park’s turf fields are available for informal recreational play in the relatively scarce windows when permitted groups are not scheduled.
